Sausage & white bean chili

This past weekend was free of scheduled events for the most part and it was SO nice to have time at home to get stuff done. Jon was working in the garage and Ford and I were playing in the backyard when I realized it was well past lunchtime. Now that Ford is on one nap a day, we usually eat lunch pretty early so I can get him down before the midday witching hour begins and the mornings always fly by! I had a package of Hillshire Farm smoked turkey sausage in the fridge and in about 15 minutes had the most delicious sausage and white bean soup in my belly. Simple ingredients and opening up a few cans was all it took for this yummy soup to come together! Jon was incredibly pleased and between the two of us we ate almost the entire recipe, whoops. I plan on adding this to our meal rotation and it would make a great post baby meal for any new mama. I love that Hillshire Farm smoked sausage is already cooked and all it requires is a little heat before it is ready to go. Ain't nobody got time to cook raw meat with toddlers running around!

1 package Hillshire Farm smoked sausage (turkey or beef)
1 cup chicken broth
2 cans Northern or white beans, rinsed and drained
1 4oz. can diced green chilis
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin

1. Slice smoked sausage into bite sized pieces
2. Brown sausage for 5 minutes in a medium sized pot
3. Add remaining ingredients and let simmer for 10 minutes
4. Serve warm and enjoy!
